Touch on, Touch off. Touch on again, Touch a little longer (or even stir for better effect), H2o suddenly becomes an RGB selector. Done as part of the Interactive Lights series.
Using a capacitive sensor(QT118H from Farnell), the top of a sweetcorn can was used as an electrode and placed inside water. The water extends the capacitive field of the metal, thus finger completes the circuit when it is in contact with the water.
Modified from the colour cross fading code The RGB water was programmed with various states - switch On, switch Off, Fading, Light stays. As sensor continue to sense finger, colour of light also continues to fade into each other.
